Dark and depressive are some of the most overused adjectives in doom metal, yet there are no better words to describe the new Fall of the Idols full-length. For over a decade, the band has practiced traditional and majestic yet unconventional doom and Solemn Verses is no exception; maybe more than ever the cold, Northern despondency is present throughout the recording. The future is looking bleak indeed!

I don't say this lightly, but 'Perfect Doctrine' is an instant classic. The hooks and riffs are great. The sound (in my opinion) takes the best parts of bands like Candlemass and Black Sabbath, and mixes them with the band's own flavor.
